All TestGene’s test systems in the line of kits for detection of coronavirus infection detect a new "centaur" strain.
For the first time, a new strain BA.2.75, called "centaur", was detected in India. At the moment, it has been detected in 13 countries, including Russia. Epidemiologists suggest that the next wave of the pandemic expected in August-September will be associated with this strain.
The “centaur” has a large number of mutations compared to the original BA.2, primarily in the spike protein. However, the RNA regions of the virus used as targets in the TestGene’s test systems were not affected by the new mutations. This makes it possible to detect coronavirus infection successfully when using any kit from the SARS-CoV-2 test line:
