Test system for simultaneous detection of coronavirus and influenza viruses has been registered
TestGene has registered the kit for detecting RNA of the SARS-CoV-2 virus and influenza A and B viruses. The analysis is performed by real-time RT-PCR.
The advantage of the respiratory panel is simultaneous multiplex detection of SARS-CoV-2 RNA and influenza A and B RNA. All known strains of influenza A and B are detected and SARS-CoV-2 RNA is detected simultaneously by two targets via one channel, which makes the test system stable in relation to new variants of the virus and its mutations.
"In the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, the focus was on diagnostics of the coronavirus infection. The diagnostics of a patient with symptoms of a respiratory disease was limited to a test for the SARS-CoV-2 virus in most cases. However, both during the coronavirus pandemic and in the "post-COVID" era, another dangerous infection – influenza – remains relevant. "The "CoV-Influ-test" kit developed by us is designed for diagnostics of influenza and its differentiation from the COVID infection," says Denis Viktorov, one of the developers, Director of Science at TestGene.
The COVID-19 virus and its effects are deadly to humans. The influenza virus type A and B is no less dangerous and can cause severe complications. All news
